Yue Xiang is a multimedia artist, currently based in San Francisco, CA.

My name is 项玥 Yue Xiang (She/They). I am a queer immigrant Chinese-American artist by the way of Guangzhou, Raleigh, Philadelphia and now residing in San Francisco. I am currently a second-year MFA Fine Arts student at California College of the Arts. My work is inspired by my family and the Chinese diaspora. I hope to honor my ancestors and find freedom and healing through my approach and process with material and labor. Some of the themes that currently resonate with me are death practices, grieving rituals, language, translation, queer and feminist aesthetics.

When I am not making art, I love to dance. Some styles I practice are waacking, heels, house and hip hop but I don’t believe that movements are defined by genres. I love to read, walk around, drink coffee, sit in parks, entertain my cat Ruby and eat good food.
